About Us

S&W Crane Hire is a Bowen business locally owned and operated by Neil and Christine Stone. First based in Collinsville in 1987, S&W's reputation for reliability, exceptional customer service and the provision of modern machinery has grown steadily throughout the years. In 2005, S&W Crane Hire moved to Bowen and we have thrived in this new location ever since.

Business owner Neil Stone is an experienced crane supervisor, operator and rigger. His wife, Chris, runs the admin side of the business. Also on the S&W Crane Hire team is Jamie King, manager/supervisor and heavy lift specialist.

At S&W, our crane specialists have a broad range of equipment available for short and long term hire. These include slew cranes, Frannas, prime movers and a flat top trailer.

In addition to cranes, S&W provides a comprehensive labour hire service. Our team consists of thoroughly experienced and qualified operators, supervisors, riggers and doggers.

At S&W Crane, we make safety, reliability and quality customer service our top priorities. Our Bowen crane and labour hire services are available throughout Bowen and the surrounding regions.

Community Involvement

Involvement in the "Bowen Mango" Prank

In February 2014, S&W Crane Hire was the company that removed, hid and returned Bowen's giant mango. In order to pull off this prank, our staff worked closely with the local community. We think you'll agree that managing to haul away a giant mango without anyone noticing takes considerable talent.

Our part in Nando's mango publicity stunt attracted significant attention. It was featured in news papers throughout Australia, New Zealand and even France. Find out the whole story.

Sponsorship of Offshore Superboat Championship

S&W Crane Hire handled precious cargo at the Offshore Superboats Championships held in 2014 and will be proudly sponsoring the event again in 2015. Our crane hire professionals take on the responsibility of being dockside, lifting boats in and out of the water and supporting the local community by their involvement in this spectacular race.
